Product Developer (Workwear)

Job Overview

Develop the product, from the Merchandise Manager’s design/Idea to the final realization, through the creation and continuous updating of a development CP and accurate management of the Technical Packs with Bill of Material (BOM), under the Development Manager supervision.

Primary Accountabilities
  • For each product ensure there is a Technical Pack (TP) and a Bill of Material (BOM), including fabric print/colour, garment specs and accessories information as per calendar deadlines (from Proto, SMS and bulk production)
  • Responsible to update and amend by AI or future PLM the TP and BOM, of all changes requested at every stage of development
  • Assist Product Development Manager in coordinating samples and checking the product fit, which means: fabric print/colour, fabric quality, garment specs, accessories, etc.
  • Develop CP calendar for style
  • Work together with design team to avail accurate information for bulk production tech packs
  • Review new concepts / styles with Designers/Merchandise Managers and translate them into specification packages with accurate technical details; bill of materials, construction details, size specs and grades
  • Fit and evaluate samples and execute all development changes.
  • Prepare and minute all fit sessions; offering suggestions on improved construction; aesthetics; fit and consistency
  • Plan and track development schedule of all products to ensure timely completion
  • Work with vendors to build best possible quality product
  • Maintain in-house work in progress reports and ensure all key global deadlines are met
  • Work with Product Acquisition to ensure they achieve a timely delivery of sales samples 
Essential Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop/Corel Draw/Paint/CAD
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
