Human Resources/Employee Relations Advisor

We are looking for a HR/ER Advisor to join a busy and productive workforce within our HR Department, to provide advice and work closely with the resources team.

We are seeking an experienced professional who has general HR/ER experience preferably CIPD (or similar) qualified who has excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.  A knowledge of handling disciplinary, grievance and capability (absence and work performance) processes are essential for this position.

Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Provide ER support and advice to Managers on all aspects of employment relations including Bullying and Harassment, Conduct, Performance Management, Grievance and Disciplinary, in line with company policy, employment law and best practice.
  • Consult with Line Management and provide daily HR guidance
  • To assist managers in managing and reducing sickness levels
  • Prepare and analyse HR Data (headcount, turnover, absence)
  • Ensuring documentation sent is legal, accurate and timely and stored appropriately
  • Managing family leave process (maternity, paternity, shared leave)
  • Supporting the HR Manager in adhoc HR projects
  • Supporting the HR Manager in the implementation of organisational changes
  • Supporting payroll processes with information relating to starters/leavers/contract changes/pensions
  • Ensuring Company Policies and procedures are up to date and in line with current employment legislation.
  • Providing current benefits information internally and externally and working with suppliers to improve processes and procedures.
  • To build strong working relationships with managers, influence, coach and upskill in people management across the business.
  • Ensuring HR systems are well managed and up to date.
  • At all times ensure strict confidentiality and adherence to GDPR
  • Support appraisal process
  • Highlight any concerns or risks to the business, to the HR Manager in a timely fashion.
  • Identify training needs for teams and individuals and help to build succession plans.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
