Job Overview

To lead the marketing strategy for Dickies Work Wear across Germany & Central Europe
Responsibility across all consumer activities; asset creation, advertising, research, sponsorship and PR collaborations.
Responsibility for coordinating sales based Trade Marketing activities
Line management responsibility for the PR consultant (Germany)

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Focussing on the German market, and with key stakeholders (Marketing Director, Brand Manager (UK & France), Head of Workwear Development & Sales Directors), build the Brand & Trade Marketing plan for Dickies Work Wear
  • Drive brand exposure through ownership of the following key areas
  1. PR – responsibility for briefing, managing & measuring all external PR agencies
  2. Sponsorship – responsibility for initiation and management all sponsorships and associations
  3. Consumer communications – responsible for the creation and methods of execution for of all communications directly to consumers, from social media to traditional catalogues
  4. Collaboration with the Sales team on driving trade marketing activities – both instore and online
  • Maintain effective internal communication (e.g. with German regional sales teams) to ensure that marketing objectives are met
  • Deliver ROI (return on investment) reviews on all major marketing investments > € 5.000 and short report with improvement reviews
  • With Creative Design & Sales teams, develop a rolling themed plan for all brand and trade activities, showing detailing execution strategies across all channels and verticals
  • Regularly communicate and present back plans & progress & success of the marketing strategy to key stakeholders, (Sales, Marketing, Merchandising and Senior Management)
  • To maintain/reinforce the Dickies brand standards in all actions/communications.
  • Manage and deliver customer research projects (in conjunction with other stakeholders as appropriate)
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis and review
  • Communication with media/press (including distribution of imagery, samples and/or stories)
  • Liaise with work wear design teams (from creation of animations, to labels and inspiration).
  • Liaise with Marketing team from Dickies USA; collaborations, needs and requests
  • Bring ideas and inspiration to the Dickies work wear marketing department
Special Requirements for this role
  • German and English – fluent oral and in writing
  • Minimum three years of experience in Trade & / or consumer marketing
  • Software: MS Office (esp. EXCEL advanced, WORD advanced, OUTLOOK)
  • Ideal: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Ready to travel frequently within Europe and with members of the sales team to customers
  • Experience in exhibition and event management
  • Experience in market research
  • Ideal: Sales experience
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Confident, creative and dynamic personality
